Enjoy life with fixed teeth

A powerful bite into the apple, a hearty laugh or a spontaneous chat with the neighbor - to enjoy life, you need fixed teeth. Tooth replacement with implants is a safe solution to compensate for tooth loss. As a specialist dentist for oral surgery and experienced implantologist, Dr. Ralf Quirin has extensive expertise - the best prerequisites for a perfect treatment result.

ACT WITH FORESIGHT

Replace lost teeth correctly

Unfortunately, lost teeth do not grow back. Tooth gaps can have serious consequences for the dental apparatus: The jawbone degrades because it lacks the load at this point. As a result, other teeth can lose their hold, shift and, in the worst case, fall out. You should therefore have larger or smaller gaps in your teeth closed as quickly as possible. Take advantage of the wide range of dental rehabilitation options for healthy and strong teeth!

COMPENSATE TOOTH LOSS

implants as a safe solution

Tooth replacement on implants is a safe solution to compensate for tooth loss. A dental implant is very close to a real tooth in terms of appearance and function. Our implantologists and master dental technicians develop your individual dental prosthesis, which will later be indistinguishable from the original in form and function.

We replace the missing tooth with an artificial tooth root made of titanium, which forms a close bond with the bone tissue of the jaw. We then attach a suitable denture to the implant, which fits exactly into your dentition and is just as resilient as a natural tooth.

An implant usually consists of three parts:

  • Implant body: It is the actual dental implant and is permanently fixed in the jawbone as an artificial tooth root.
  • Implant abutment: The so-called abutment is a small post that is firmly connected to the implant body. It supports the subsequent dental prosthesis.
  • Implant crown: The superstructure is the visible tooth replacement in the form of crowns, bridges or dentures.

INDIVIDUAL DENTURES

Finding the right implant

To ensure that we can fulfill your wish for a safe dental prosthesis on implants, a detailed consultation takes place before every treatment. We discuss your ideas with you and create your personal therapy plan for your dental implant in Freiburg. We plan each dental implant using 3D software for your safety and work with allergy-free metals and materials, such as titanium and ceramics. These are excellently accepted by the body and usually grow into the jawbone without complications.

Implants for every requirement

  • Single-tooth restoration: An implant is placed in the tooth gap and closes the row of teeth.
  • Large gaps: Bridges supported by implants close the gap in the row of teeth.
  • Edentulous jaw: We can even restore edentulous upper or lower jaws with a complete row of teeth using the proven ALL-ON-4 method.

BEST METHOD

Advantages of implants

An implant is the most natural way to replace a missing tooth. Implants have many advantages:

  • no healthy tooth is ground
  • no incorrect loading of teeth and joints occurs
  • Dental prosthesis on implants is esthetic and functional
  • the artificial tooth root prevents bone resorption
  • healthy teeth remain unaffected

DENTURES FOR EVERYONE

Conditions for a firm hold

Implants basically help every patient to enjoy again. For this form of tooth rehabilitation, however, bone growth should be completed - usually at the age of 18. The implant must grow into the jawbone. If the bone supply is not sufficient, we build up the bone.

Various methods can be used to fill the missing tissue:

  • Bone augmentation - before or during implantation, the bone is built up with autologous bone or synthetic replacement material (BioOss, BioGide, collagen)
  • Sinus lift - during implant placement, the bone layer on the maxillary sinus floor in the lateral maxillary region is reinforced to provide sufficient support for the implant.
  • Soft tissue augmentation - In order to achieve an esthetically satisfactory result of implantological treatment, reconstruction or supplementation of the mucosa in the implant area may be necessary in certain cases. Depending on the findings, various surgical procedures are used for this purpose.

Q-TIP

With treatment methods such as ALL-ON-4®, implantation is also possible without additional bone augmentation. We will be happy to inform you about your options here.

SAFE AND PAINLESS

Navigated implantology

By using dredimensiional X-rays and digital surgical planning, the procedure can be optimally planned in advance. This means that no nerves, blood vessels or the maxillary sinus are injured. The operation time is also significantly reduced. If you wish, you can sleep through the entire procedure. Our experienced anesthesia team will be happy to advise you on the various anesthesia options. After two to four months, the implant is healed and fully loadable, so that the dental crown or another denture can be placed and fitted.

SPECIAL CAUTION REQUIRED

Implants for diabetics

Even diabetics do not have to do without safe dentures. What was associated with risks a few years ago is now feasible thanks to implantological progress. We work closely with the relevant specialists. Possible risks for implantation are thus reduced.

Since the blood glucose level of diabetics is usually subject to strong fluctuations and diabetes has a great influence on the metabolism anyway, wearing dental implants seems unsuitable for diabetics. However, with comprehensive diagnostics and the appropriate treatment measures, implantation of the artificial tooth root is possible.

We reduce possible risks by:

  • Professional dental cleaning (PZR)
  • Periodontitis treatment
  • Accompanying vitamin D cure
  • Parallel use of antibiotics
  • Strict monitoring of blood glucose levels

With care and discipline, as well as supportive therapy, we reduce the risk of side effects and loss of the dental implant. So you can enjoy life even as a diabetic with dental prostheses on implants.

CARE FOR THE DENTURE

Aftercare for implants

We want the implants to grow well into the jawbone. For this purpose, we arrange check-up appointments with you. As a rule, the healing process proceeds without complications. This is the aftercare procedure:

  • 1-2 control appointments - in the days after implantation
  • 2-3 months later - fitting and insertion of the individual denture
  • 3 times a year - inspection and cleaning of implants and dentures
  • every 1-4 years - X-ray to check the implants
